  • Limits to Confidentiality

As your therapist, I am legally and ethically responsible to maintain confidentiality about any discussions that take place as part of your therapy. No information can be released to third parties without your consent. If I am working with you and your partner in relationship therapy I will require consent from both of you should I receive a request to release information. Exceptions to maintaining confidentiality may occur in cases of abuse/neglect of a minor or of a disabled dependent adult, a court ordered subpoena, or where there is a clear and present danger to yourself or others or when there is disclosure of serious misconduct by a registered health care professional.

  • Communication (phone and social media)

I will respond to your email and telephone calls within 48 hours during the business week (Monday to Friday).  I caution you to use your discretion when using email and texting as modes of communication with me. Please be mindful that email communication cannot be guaranteed to be fully secure and confidential as information may be intercepted. My preference is that you not detail your personal history and information through email or texting correspondence. I would rather discuss such details together over the phone (416-272-6992).

I do not subscribe to other forms of social media such twitter, Facebook etc. for the above reasons that could jeopardize your privacy.
